This procedure tells you how to adjust the computer sound volume through Sounds and Audio Devices Properties in Control Panel.

Using your mouse

1. On the Start menu:
   • Select Control Panel

2. In Control Panel:
   • Be sure you are in Classic View (all Control Panel icons are showing).
   • If not, under Control Panel in the left pane, select Switch to Classic View.
   • Select Sounds and Audio Devices.

3. In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box, on the Volume tab:
   • Adjust the sound volume by moving the Device volume slider.
   • Select OK.

4. To close Control Panel:
   • Select the Close button.

Using the keyboard

1. Display the Start menu by pressing CTRL+ESC (or the Windows logo key ).
   • Select Control Panel by pressing C.

2. In Control Panel:
   • Be sure you are in Classic View (all Control Panel icons are showing).
   • If not, under Control Panel in the left pane, select Switch to Classic View by pressing TAB.
   • Press ENTER.
   • Move to Sounds and Audio Devices by pressing the arrow keys.
   • Press ENTER.

3. In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box, on the Volume tab:
   • Adjust the Device volume by pressing the RIGHT ARROW key for higher volume (louder), and the LEFT ARROW key for lower volume.
   • Select OK.

4. To close Control Panel:
   • Press ALT+F, C.
