Lance Allrunner - Thoughts and Memories

( 11 · 30 · 1968   -   3 · 5 · 2010 )

Lance was my friend. Although it has been several years since I have seen him, the kindness & wisdom he imparted on me will remain with me for life.

I brought our direction in with Lance during the marches & listened as he would crack jokes at powwows that would keep us laughing!

It is with a sad & heavy heart I learn of the loss of Lance to the world, and his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with his tiospaye, may his family find comfort in the lives that he touched forever. Lance, my brotherman....FLY, Nakose, FLY!!!!!!!!!

I recognized Lance's name in today's Lawton Constitution (newspaper), and see he was a Native Brother for NACR.

I recall meeting him at the regional seminars.

I am sorry for the loss of Lance to do this work. He was so energetic and bright.

My husband and his brother are Comanche hymn singers; I will see if they can sing at the prayer service.

I remember when my girls and I first moved back to Denver and we met Lance @ DFRAC.

You see my girls felt uncomfortable for sometime and having to move into the city was a big change for them as well as for me.

I remember when I first took my girls to DFRAC and Lance sat down to chit chat with them. They were quiet at first. When I came out of my appointment they were all laughing up a "storm", like they knew each other from long ago.

Lance had that effect on people. He had that way with children. He made them come out of their tipi. It was such a sight seeing them giggling and laughing and sharing rez jokes. I seen tears of joy coming out my kids's eyes. These are tears of togetherness and belonging.

I am grateful that my family got to know Lance. He was a kind, gentle, and caring Human Being. He will always be in our thoughts.......
